“Spring in St Anns Heritage Gardens”

May 13, 2010 at 2:07 pm 1 comment

Spring is in the air; our fruit trees are in blossom, birds are singing, and our gardens our humming with activity. To celebrate the season we invite you to the green lung of St Anns on Sunday 16th May 2010 between 11am and 4pm for walks, talks, workshops, chatting, eating, ambling, sitting and enjoying.

STAA Heritage Officer, Mo Cooper, says “I love this time of year, the gardens come alive – hundreds of gardeners and community groups beavering away, planting their seeds, feeling the earth come to life. Our fruit trees are full of blossom, so we’ve high hopes for another bumper year of apples and pears. We hope both old and new friends will come to our open day and see how much progress we’ve made on the site. Our partners Ecoworks and Urban Nature are keeping the spirit of Greenweeks alive by putting on some exciting activities for our open day.”

Our Open Day was a great success, with approximately 400 people participating in a range of activities. After a dull start to the day, the sun stayed out all day giving a real spring felling to the gardens. Our next Open day is Sunday 12th September, though you can still come to the gardens for various activities.
