Competition Time!

The Nottinghamshire Local History Association has launched an exciting competition for young Nottingham writers.

The My Place Competition encourages entrants aged 7–18 to produce a descriptive leaflet/brochure called ‘A History of My Place’, which can be the street where they live or where their family has lived in the past. It can be a street someone likes to visit or a group of houses they find interesting. It could be a public building, a school, a hospital, or a favorite visitor attraction. Having decided on a location, the young participant(s) should carry out research into the location, its history, usage, and inhabitants. Entrants could pay particular attention to any changes which might have happened since they were born.

For more information and to download an entry form, visit the NLHA homepage. The closing date is 31st December 2012 – so get writing!
